5 Attributes of a Good Realtor

Let’s face it; the realty game is really one of sales and acquisition. Whether you are looking for a realtor or you want to become a realtor yourself, there are some very important attributes which to look for. The five attributes we have listed in this article will enable your realtor to do a better job for you, and allow the new realtor to achieve success in the long term.

Experience

With the decline of the real estate market in the United States in particular, the importance of finding a realtor with good sales experience has been illustrated as never before. Realtors who began their careers within the last five years generally saw a chance to make some good money relatively quickly; the larger the center in which you are looking the more true this is. Realtors without experience when it comes to a buyer’s market won’t be of much use in today’s climate; they simply lack the knowledge when it comes to how to proceed. Look for a realtor with a proven track record over time.

Great communication skills

The last thing anyone wants when they are trying to buy or sell a house is to go through a long stretch of time where they are not in contact with their realtor. Even if there is no real movement or interest on a piece of property or if nothing comes up in the market, a good realtor will make contact with their clients at least twice a week explaining what they are doing to assist them and find what they are looking for.

A genuine desire to help out

Good real estate practice goes beyond making a sale. A good realtor should genuinely wish to make the selling or buying experience as easy as possible for their client; that means that from the beginning of the process to the end, they are on the lookout for areas where the client may be struggling. Good realtors have contacts that can assist with the pre-approval of a mortgage, lawyers to handle the paper work, and they may even point out areas in a property that may need improvement. In other words, they are worried about the client and not just the sale!

Appearance

A realtor should always exude a professional appearance. Sloppy methods of dress and bad hygiene will indicate poor business to many people.

Finally, a good realtor will need to have an intimate knowledge of the area in which he or she operates. It’s pretty hard to find the best location for a client, or show off a home to its full potential, without knowing the neighbourhood!

To find home listings in Mississauga, contact a residential real estate specialist and request a report on the many Mississauga home listings that meet your requirements!
